Types of Work Experiences We’re Looking For
Shadowing For a Day
Shadowing might involve observing meetings, an office tour, a lunch, and a chance to chat with people in the workplace.
Gap Year Opportunities
Trying out work or service opportunities before and during college and grad school that you wouldn’t otherwise have a chance to try.
Internships
Internships of all different lengths give you a chance to perform helpful tasks, observe the workplace, and learn from other employees.
Summer & Other Vacation Jobs
Work over the summer and during other breaks presents great opportunities to experiment with new areas that could influence your imagination.
Service Opportunities
Many Immanuel mentors’ careers have been influenced by volunteering and service work— a good fit while in a full-time job or school.
Hear From Participants
"As an employer, I found some of the best, most innovative ideas were coming from the interns. The interns were the ones who were willing to take on the dirty work and pick up the tasks others didn't necessarily want to do, but some of the best findings came out of [intern] projects.”
— Kaitlyn Trabucco, Founder of Educents by CoLearn
“I had worked during college for a film production company, and chatted with a Pathways mentor about my interest in the music business. He knew some people who worked in that industry, and that ultimately led to a fantastic summer internship at a music company in New York. You never know where an introduction might lead you!”
