Connect With Mentors Stress Free
No need to feel anxious about asking to chat— these mentors registered for the mentor directory because they WANT to talk with you!
Video or in-Person?
In-person is always best. You get a sense of the person better. But if video makes the conversation more likely -- because of health reasons, convenience or distance -- we’re all for video! Video chats are more productive than phone.
Video chat, such as Skype, Facetime or Zoom are all free, all easy to use. Most Immanuelites are comfortable with Zoom.
Always Meet in Public Places
Only Pathways seekers 18 and over are eligible for one-on-one chats. Nevertheless, if mentors and seekers meet in person rather than by video, meetings should always be in public places, at church where others are around, in a coffee shop or restaurant, or outside where there are others — for the safety and comfort of both parties!
How Do You Ask a Mentor to Chat?
Click on the email addresses in the AirTable email field and it will create a new email to the mentor.
In your email, be yourself. Keep it light. Say something about why you picked the person. Here are a few examples of emails to mentors:
Be Responsive
After you send your invitation, be sure to check your email regularly, so they’re not left waiting to hear from you.
Try to be flexible about meeting their suggested times and places to chat.
Remember they are often busy people and doing this as a favor to you (even as they enjoy chatting with seekers)!
